The Climate Action Framework Act passed its second reading in Parliament with a vote of 248 to 87, gaining support from members across party lines.
During the six-hour debate, members discussed the economic implications of emissions targets, the need for a just transition for workers in fossil fuel industries, and the role of technology in achieving net-zero goals.
"This is a historic moment for our nation," said the Prime Minister. "We are demonstrating that Aldoria will lead the global effort to combat climate change."
