About Parliament

The Parliament of Aldoria is the supreme legislative body of the nation, established under the Constitution of 1948. Parliament is composed of 350 elected Members who represent constituencies across the country.

Functions of Parliament

  • Making and amending laws through the legislative process
  • Scrutinizing government policy and holding ministers accountable
  • Approving the national budget and government spending
  • Debating matters of national importance
  • Representing the interests and concerns of constituents

Parliamentary Sessions

Parliament sits for approximately 142 days per year, typically from late January through July and from September through December. The Speaker sets the daily agenda in consultation with party leaders.
